During horse rides you can come across interesting local people and other tourists. So, if you want to spend a lovely equestrian holiday and enjoy the beautiful countryside of this region, come and spend your holiday or a weekend in South Bohemia which has been a pioneer in the establishment of equestrian tourism within the Czech Republic. Beginners as well as skilled riders can take advantage of a number of farms, stables and ranches.
One of the centres of equestrian sport in South Bohemia is the Vondrov Farm which is situated near Hluboká nad Vltavou. The local stables used to be famous due to the pedigree horses which were bred here and used for both riding and pulling coaches. At present, this equestrian centre offers to beginners as well as skilled riders high quality services and facilities including an outdoor riding field, a roofed riding hall, stables for horses and training lessons. The meadows, forests and charming ponds surrounding the Vondrov Farm are just excellent for rides. Those who do not like riding, can still have a nice time in the Vondrov Farm relaxing and watching horses graze on large pastures only a few kilometres from the South Bohemian metropolis, České Budějovice. The Vondrov Farm also organizes a number of equestrian events, such as dressage, jumping competitions and namely the Small and Big Cup of the Town of Hluboká nad Vltavou. The season is traditionally closed by a Hubert Ride.
